- The gundrill unit ECPP was developed for drilling with single flute gundrill tools and it is built up from SOMEX standard units.
- The gundrill system is used for drilling of deep holes, but also in applications, where quality holes should be machined at low cost.
- With the gundrill unit ECPP and suitable gundrill tools it is possible to machine high quality holes, very often without second operations as for instance sinking, reaming, honing a.s.o.
- With the gundrill technologies tight tolerances within few µ, for diameter, alignment, roundness, surface roughness, can be obtained in a single operation.
- With the gundrill technology the coolant is supplied under pressure through the hollow tool shank to the carbide tool edge. Chips and coolant are continuously flushed out through a V-flute on the toolside. No peckfeed for chips clearance is necessary.
- The drilling is done in full material. The tool is guided during spot drill by a bushing. The bushing can be axial fixed or optionally pneumatically movable, and is located in a housing which serves also for collecting and removal of chips and coolant.
